The culture I decided to research was England. Ever since I was little I’ve found myself wanting to go there and to explore the differences between the United States and the United Kingdom. There are plenty of differences between the two, but also a lot of similarities. There are different accents in England depending on the area in which you live in. For example, the North vs. the South, and even some accents determine your social class. They have several sports in England as well. The three major sports are Football (soccer), Rugby, and Cricket. I hope to learn more about this culture, and different traditions this country has. I plan to research new cultural foods and possibly be able to try them out sometime in the near future.

While researching, I came across some interesting facts I did not know about the food. They mostly eat beef, pork and fish for their main courses. While looking at some photos, a lot of these dishes looked appetizing, especially the desserts. They have sweet dishes; it varies from puddings, custards, dumplings, pies, and cakes. When people in England have tea they usually eat some of these desserts with it. In London, there are over 18,000 restaurants in the area. They are all different types of restaurants from fast food to five star eateries.
“England is bordered to the north of Scotland and the west of Wales (Wikipedia).” There are many hills, rivers, and lakes in England, but in the north there are mountain chains. The seasons in England change in temperature, from hot to cold. If I were to travel to England I would go to the Greater London Urban Area, just because most people live here. This shapes different types of food because each part of the country shows certain traditions. Some of the food traditions are even from the Medieval English times. Personally, I would love to try the old traditional food so I can experience what it tastes like and knowing how it came into this culture.
