Image result for Filipino flag                The Philippines!  I chose this culture because I am half Filipino myself.  Growing up in my Grandmas house hold, I was surrounded by Filipino culture night and day.  Not to mention all the Filipino food my Grandma, Great Grandma, and Mom would make our family.  Being in this culture for a while now, I know that food is a huge part in an everyday Filipino life.  My Mom experienced hardships when living in the Philippines, and finding food was a priority in their family.  One thing she told me was that at every meal there was always coffee rice.  When there was any meat involved, it was usually a special event due to their hardship.  Although this is how my family lived in the Philippines, there are many more delicious foods that is around and that I have experienced myself.  Many people in the Philippines use their fingers to consume food.  Although some may use forks and spoons, eating by hand is most common.  The most common fiesta food is called lechon, it is basically a full size pig.  Filipino food is heavily influenced from the Spanish.  This is due to the Spaniards colonization of the Philippines for nearly three centuries. Filipino food is also influenced from the Japanese due to World war two, and Chinese and Indian cuisines.  Today’s Filipino food is such a huge variety bend from the past all the way up to the future due to the past races that lived in the Philippines.
