Capodanno - meaning New years in Italy. The way the Italians celebrate New Years eve is the root of where many other countries, including the USA, got the idea. Creating a big celebration and a moment of joy leading up to the 12:00 hour is the way to do it. The fireworks were not forgotten and have been a big contribution to what New Years Eve is all about. On this day many Italians go out for a fancy dinner and for those of age go to pubs and drink the famous Italian red wine. An Italian tradition is to wear red underwear on this day symbolizing good fortune for the coming year ahead. Another New Years tradition is to play tambola- A game similar to bingo.

New years is one of my favorite holidays and it was awesome learning how other countries celebrate it.
