A traditional dish that is had in the Philippines is
called Nilaga. It is a soupy substance
that is made with beef and a numerous amount of vegetables. One ingredient that is most commonly used in
all of Filipino food is soy sauce. Filipinos
use soy sauce in almost all of their meals and it has no sign of declining in
use what so ever. When cooking Nilaga
you will notice that soy sauce is used in it.
Although you might not be able to taste it, it is still put to use in
almost every variety of food made in the Philippines. When tasting another food like chicken adobo,
it is most common to use a well amount of soy sauce. Unlike other foods like Nilaga where you
would have a hard time tasting the soy sauce, there is a prominent taste in
adobo. While discussing Beef Nilaga,
some may find it not to be healthy, but they are so wrong! Just because the taste is so flavorful and
enjoyable doesn’t make it not healthy. Beef
Nilaga is made up of all natural flavors and ingredients. You will find an assortment of vegetables
along with bone marrow which is boiled down well before. Some may not know that bone marrow is
actually extremely helpful for our diet.
It fulfills our needs of vitamins and essential fatty acids that we may
not be getting. This dish of Nilaga is
very traditional among all Filipinos, especially my family. Along with other popular dishes, this is a
very unique and flavorful soup based meal.
